#Hack – How to keep your wine chilled in the glass
Believe it or not, a glass of wine a day keeps the doctors away. It’s loaded with antioxidants, can help protect against heart disease and harmful inflammation. Whilst Red wine is arguably said to be best served at room temperature, Rosé and White wine are better served chilled.
Did you know that serving wine at the right temperature can enhance or reduce the taste? This is because of their composition. I’m not a wine expert but I do know my wines and a warm white wine can taste like nasty syrup. No thanks.
A great way to relax at the end of the day is with a glass of wine. However, it can suddenly be ruined when it goes from chilled to room temperature. An easy way to keep your wine chilled and not watered down is to add some frozen grapes into your glass. This is good with a bottle of wine that hasn’t been chilled or keeping a chilled glass of wine cooler for longer.
Put a handful of frozen grapes —about 7– into the glass and pour your wine. If it hasn’t been chilled before, it will take about three minutes for it to be cool.
You don’t have to buy a whole pack of grapes to achieve this hack. Depending on the store, you can buy grapes in medium cups of N500-N600. Keep it frozen for use at any time. Let’s hope NEPA doesn’t have the last say.
Enjoy.
