There’s something legendary about Lagos Street food. This combination is iconic; roasted yam, boli (roasted plantain) with super soft pomo soaked in delicious palm oil based pepper sauce, garnished with Utazi leaves. Mmmm. So good. The next time you see roasted yam, you may want to try eating it this way. The Utazi leaves are freshly cut and not cooked. It’s mildly bitter note cuts through the sweetness of plantain whilst balancing the heat of the pepper sauce. If you love fish, try the smoked fish in pepper sauce. Absolutely delicious. For me it’s Pomo all the way.
